Ubisoft has advertised Far Cry 2 as the real sequel to Far Cry, yet the sequel bears few resemblances to the first game. Instead, it introduces entirely new characters and settings and a new gameplay style that gives the player more flexibility to explore various African landscapes such as deserts, jungles, and savannas.
Although the original Far Cry was available only on the PC for the first year and a half of its existence, Far Cry 2 will see an expanded audience with the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions
Far Cry 2 looks fairly good. But not as good as it could've looked. Far Cry 2 is fun. But not as fun as it could've been. Far Cry 2 has an interesting and mature story. But it can't really be followed or enjoyed without serious effort. Far Cry 2 has some neat-o gameplay mechanics. But they aren't all very neat-o. Far Cry 2 is worth buying.
